Accused killer free on bail
A 19- year-old accused of killing Afghani singing sensation Nasrat Parsa was released on bail yesterday.
Ahmad Saier Froogh, of Burnaby was charged with manslaughter in the May 8 death of Parsa.
It is alleged Froogh punched Parsa after the singer’s mother’s Day concert. Parsa died of a brain injury several hours later. The performer’s family alleged he was attacked because the concert didn’t include enough fast music for a group of drunken young men, allegedly including Froogh. Froogh, a Grade 12 student at Burnaby Central, was released on a $10,000 surety and is to appear in court May 30.
