Can I receive SMS messages on my phone whenever someone logs into MSN Messenger and sends me a message? Or when I receive a new e-mail?
Microsoft is now offering a paid service to get Hotmail & MSN Messenger alerts on your mobile phone (GSM for dutchies). In fact, they're fully integrating wireless phones with their different services. Here's an overview, found at msn.com:
- Composing e-mail is made easy by just typing in the Hotmail quick-name -- so you don't need to know your buddy's e-mail address.
- Send, receive, reply and delete Hotmail over SMS.
- Junk-mail filters are set to high so you don't need to worry about SPAM
- Be notified automatically on your phone when there are new e-mail messages in your Hotmail Inbox.
- By personalizing your alert settings, get only the phone alerts you want for messages sent to your Hotmail Inbox.
- Allow your Messenger buddies to send messages to your phone when you are not online.
- Retrieve your existing MSN Messenger Contact List on the phone.
- Send and receive text messages from PC-to-Phone or Phone-to-Phone.
- Save Quick Numbers to your phone for easy access to all of your contacts.
