Jawad Karimi is one of the most respected song writers in Afghanistan and Tajikistan, having previously composed music for famous Tajiki singers like Manija Daulat and various others.
In 2006, Jawad moved back to his native Afghanistan and signed with Barbud Music who had recently set up their Kabul recording studios. Together, they have created this album whose title song commemorates the Year of Rumi (Mawlana Jalaludin Balkhi Rumi), and the lyrics of this song are from poetry of Rumi.
The album is the first ever CD fully composed, arranged, recorded and mastered in Afghanistan, and the CD itself was printed in Dubai to ensure the highest quality.
The CD is an Enhanced CD and contains a video clip of Asheqaan in VCD qaulity which can be played on any computer. This video was also recorded on location in Afghanistan.
The music is pop in nature but with eastern influences and beats.
