Biography
On October 7, 1984 Sediq was born in Kassel, Germany. Even as
a little boy at the age of 4, he loved music and made his first
singing attempts. His parents and - above all - his elder brother
Tufan, noticed his talent and gave him al the support and attention
he needed. In addition, Tufan taught him the “alphabet of
music” (the Harmonium) and soon after Sediq sang his first
song, “Bewafa Yahram” (Ahmad Zahir).
Following his first singing few attempts, Sediq moved on to playing
melodies. He had learned to play certain melodies simply from
the way he had memorized the melodies he had heard. Later on,
he had joined his older brother who played music at wedding parties.
With time passing and Sediq gaining experience, he also became
skilled at playing other music instruments such as the “the
harmonium”, “the tabla”, and “the dhol”.
A time came when Tufan stopped playing music and so exerted strong
pressure on Sediq, so that he should become more professionally
with his singing. Sediq began to practice his still callow voice
and developed it within short time; his voice became better and
riper.
Tufan still convinced of the fact that his little brother would
become a great singer, pushed Sediq to sing in front of private
audiences when he was only 14 years of age. This gave Sediq more
motivation, ambition and dedication to work further on his talent
and as well it gave him more courage in to stand before public
audiences.
Sediq had his first great and exclusive appearance at the age
of 15 at a wedding in Hamburg, Germany. Accompanied by his older
brothers Tufan and Keis, who still accompany him on all his appearances,
he gained the enthusiasm and positive feedback of the listeners
and so moved on to produce his own CD.
Just a year later, his first CD, “Tawalod dar Ghorbat”,
was available to the public. The CD became a success and in July
2000, Sediq’s family organized for him to hold his first
concert in hometown Kassel.
Afterwards, although he was just 16 years old, Sediq attended
and played at more and more weddings. Not everyone trusts a young
adult in what he claims, yet Sediq proved his talent by mastering
his tasks very well. And thus far, Sediq Yakub acquired more and
more popularity among general audiences and his fans.
Ever since then, Sediq is strives to develop his music further
and constantly works on it to give it a unique style. He knows
that there is still much more to learn and so has decided to learn
from famous Indian musicians and masters.
